Copyright Policy
Our copyright policy is all we have to protect ourselves in case something of ours is found elsewhere, as well as to protect the works of others who have provided invaluable information to the public.
Policy on Using The Pagan Online Campus' Copyright Protected Materials:
As a general rule, you may print, reproduce and use the information in, and retrieve files containing publications or images from only those WWW documents which The Pagan Online Campus or the author expressly grants permission or license to use provided:
- the use is for non-commercial, personal or educational purposes only,
- you do not modify any information or image, and
- you include any copyright notice originally provided in the materials.
If a particular author places further restrictions on the material, you must honor those restrictions. In some instances, specific information contents may be copyrighted by others. By using any of this material, you assume all risks of copyright infringement and related liability.
Suspected Copyright Violations
If you suspect a copyright infringement, you should notify administration immediately. The administrators can then examine the situation and take action if needed. The most helpful piece of information you can provide is a URL or other reference to what you believe may be the source of the text.
Some cases will be false alarms. For example, if the contributor of the page was in fact the author of the text that is published elsewhere under different terms, that does not affect their right to post it at The Pagan Online Campus under the GNU Free Documentation License(GFDL). Also, sometimes you will find text elsewhere on the Web that was copied from TPOC. In both of these cases, it is a good idea notify administration so teh claim can be investigated.
If some of the content of a page really is an infringement, then the infringing content will be removed, and a note to that effect may be made, along with the original source. If the author's permission is obtained later, the text can be restored.
If all of the content of a page is a suspected copyright infringement, then the page will be deleted.
In extreme cases of contributors continuing to post copyrighted material after appropriate warnings, such users may be blocked from The Pagan Online Campus.
