So You Wanna Teach Here

Teaching can be very rewarding. It is an opportunity for you to share your own knowledge and experience with those who want to learn. It is the chance for you to pass the torch of knowledge to others and to see the spark of of excitement as they begin to learn and understand.

It is also educational as it gives you the opportunity to see your subject matter through the eyes and minds of those who are fresh to the subject; to see a new perspective and insight into something you may not have considerd in a long time.

With this in mind, why not teach here at The Pagan Online Campus? You can help those seeking to further their knowledge by providing them with a structured learning environment on a subject that you know very well.

We are looking for instructors who are both knowledgable in their subject matter as well as experienced. Book knowledge without experience is empty knowledge. A post by our Director of Education best explains what we need here:

"At this time, some of our teachers are on Sabbatical or are prevented from teaching their usual courses and we need to fill some gaps in our curriculum if possible.

A case in point, it is due to unfortunate personal tragedy that our Druidry teacher is unable to offer classes with us. While we send out healing light and strength to her, we still would like to be able to meet student demands for these classes. Therefore I would like to extend a call to those who might be interested and qualified to submit a potential course outline for a beginning or an intermediate class in this subject. With all the members we have on the site, I can hardly fathom that we have no one qualified to offer such a class.

As Director of Education, I would like to review any potential teacher's background and look over whatever course outline you put forth before you would begin offering a class, but as long as there are no major snags, we invite any and all comers to consider offering a course here. We like to see someone well-studied, a strong practitioner of whatever the subject matter is you'd like to offer. Someone who is dedicated, reliable and consistent. That means, you would offer the course on an ongoing basis, perhaps until you apprentice someone else to take up the gauntlet and teach it. Which we also encourage.

Since we also lament not being able to offer Divination classes right now, I wanted to put this notice out there for the sake of those who might consider themselves approaching the stage of readiness to teach that subject, too. I would not presume to ask anyone to take over another individual's outline, as that would be prohibitive. But if you feel that you are at the stage of readiness to offer an overview course in this subject, please contact me at ladyharvest@thepagancampus.net to discuss the particulars.

Teaching is the major way we learn, but as with everything, it is not for everyone. It requires a heck of a lot of patience. And of course, you learn in a different way when you teach. But because you are offering something of yourself and expecting nothing in return, you are blessed in ways that other types of work cannot compare with.

If you are interested in teaching one or more subjects here be prepared to submit a class syllabus for a 10-12 week class as well as a good description of the class to convince others that your class is worth taking. We will also ask for a short bio about yourself for posting in the staff section of the Campus.

• Beginners Wicca (Someone to take over the classes)
• Gods and Goddesses/Mythology
• Any aspect of religion or magic you are experienced at
